Bethesda’s MidCity Financial Corp. is pursuing a planned-unit development and map amendment for a 317-unit, nine-story multifamily building at 1707 Eighth St. NW, a block from the Shaw-Howard U. Metro station. The project, the subject of an initial D.C. Zoning Commission hearing May 12, will require the demolition of four buildings along Eighth Street. The new building will include no retail. Eric Colbert & Associates is the architect, and the design team also included landscape architect LandDesign and civil engineer Bohler.
