The Mission

The Mission exemplifies the intricate design and planning that is often required for a successful mixed-use project in DC’s historic districts. A total of four historic structures, along with a seven-story addition, were woven together to create a seamless composition while allowing each of the original buildings to retain its historic identity. The project was especially challenging because the floor levels in the existing structures did not align, and they were built using different construction methods. ECA incorporated energy-efficient windows designed to match the original profiles.
